Actually, I just re-read Mark's post and it occurred to me that we could also use a really demanding captcha for votes...

Ok, please don't eat me alive for this but... has anyone actually followed the posts of "Philosophy Phridays" at The Daily Ant? You can peruse the posts here: https://dailyant.com/category/philosophy-phridays/

They actually have quite a few senior philosophers. Neta, Schoenfield, Hirsch... and it's pretty entertaining.

My impression is that the wider philosophical world pays some attention (after all, the lineup is impressive as you suggest, and they seem to get someone new every week), but not at the metablogs, metaforums, and the like.

The problem is that anonymous bloggers on metablog lack in humor even moreso than your average feminism. More humor, more ants. It's that simple.

Can someone please tell me whether this daily ant thing is serious or a joke?

I risk sounding like a fool, but it's hard to know whether it is some elaborate parody for the in-crowd or something.

As far as I can tell, it's a mixture. It makes no sense on its face, but then you look at who has contributed (on their website: https://dailyant.com/philosophy-phriday-contributions- to-date/) and it seems basically serious. I haven't read most of the posts (I'm an arachnologist, not a philosopher), but from what I've seen it's sometimes funny, sometimes serious.

Kevin Timpe's post was quite enjoyable, for example: https://dailyant.com/2017/09/15/philosophy-phriday-the-fecundity-of-ants-and-the-goodness-of-existing/
